2018 Corner Award Longlist Revealed

In its third year since inception, the Corner Award, which celebrates Australian artists breaking the mould, has just revealed its 2018 longlist.

Experts from a variety of organisations including Bakehouse Studios, ABC Radio, The Push, RRR FM and Mushroom Publishing have come together with the Corner Hotel to come up with a list of artists they believe have a unique contribution to the music industry.

The winner of the award gets a massive prize including a headline show at the Corner Hotel with production and promotion covered by the venue who "are committed to supporting those who dedicate themselves to their musical pursuits".  

Sampa The Great was the 2016 recipient of the award and said, “The Corner Award added more to my repertoire because it's a prestigious new award".

"It moved me away from being just an underground artist, putting me into the realm of a more professional artist."
