Welcome to the club.
Melbourne funk trio Cookin' On 3 Burners have hit a mammoth milestone with their track This Girl, which has officially racked up more than one billion streams.
Written by Jake Mason, Ivan Khatchoya and Lance Ferguson, This Girl has earned a spot on APRA AMCOS’ exclusive The 1,000,000,000 List.
Last month, Flume also entered the exclusive club with Never Gonna Be Like You, following Nat Dunn for MARSHMELLO’s Friends in June and Dean Lewis for Be Alright in July.
This Girl, which features vocals from Melbourne artist Kylie Auldist, blew up big time in 2016 after a remix was released by French DJ and producer Kungs, topping charts across the globe.
“Starting off as a band doing gigs and supporting our uni careers – who would have thought we’d write this song and many others? It’s great to have you as friends and colleagues,” Mason said.

APRA AMCOS Chief Executive Dean Ormston added: “A billion streams is an enormous milestone, and a yardstick by which the international community looks and reveres the evolution of a work.”
The news arrives as Ferguson – who also leads The Bamboos - releases new music under Machines Always Win, a “cinematic electronic project”.
Runner is the lead cut and title track from his forthcoming album, set for release on November 1.
You can catch Cookin' On 3 Burners at Bird’s Basement later that same month. Check out theGuide for all the details.
