Concert Promoter AEG Not Liable For Michael Jackson's Death, Says Jury

The promoter will not have to compensate the Jackson family

Concert promoter AEG Live has been cleared of any liability in the death of music superstar Michael Jackson.

According to the LA Times, the jury found that Dr. Conrad Murray, who was hired by AEG and ultimately provided him with the fatal dose of anesthetic propofol, was fully competent to treat the singer.

The verdict means that AEG will avoid having to pay any money to the Jackson family. Attorneys for the Jacksons were after $85 million for MJ's children and a further $35 million for his mother Katherine.

Jackson passed away in June 2009. Murray is currently serving out his sentence for involuntary manslaughter in a California prison and is expected to be released later this year.
