Cold Chisel’s 50th anniversary concerts were some of the most highly anticipated events of 2024, and for those who missed out (or fans who want to re-live the experience), you’ll have the opportunity to watch soon.
Filmed and recorded during their shows at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl in November, Cold Chisel – The Big Five-0 is coming soon to Channel 7.
The band announced the news on social media over the weekend, sharing a Channel 7 teaser video which notes:
“One of the greatest Australian rock bands of all time – Cold Chisel.”
Fans will be able to enjoy live renditions of classic Chisel songs, including You Got Nothing I Want, My Baby, Saturday Night, Cheap Wine, Flame Trees, Khe Sanh, Choirgirl, Standing On The Outside, and When The War Is Over, live from one of Melbourne’s most iconic music venues.

The band’s mammoth The Big Five-0 tour consisted of 23 dates across the country. Reviewing one of the shows for The Daily Telegraph, Kathy McCabe remarked: “Cold Chisel give fans one of the greatest shows in Australian music history.”
Jimmy Barnes said of the 50th-anniversary tour, “Cold Chisel are never apart. We’re as close as brothers. Some of the best moments of my life have been spent on stage with those boys, and I hope we keep going ‘til the day we drop.
“The Big Five-0 is a landmark moment. There have been plenty of times where I never thought I’d live to see this day, so I’m going to make the most of it. I can’t wait to celebrate with my mates and with all the fans who have been such a big part of our story. We’re gonna smash it!”
