The “overwhelming” demand for Cold Chisel tickets during yesterday's pre-sale has resulted in the addition of six new shows to their The Big Five-O 50th anniversary tour.
Yesterday afternoon (31 May), second tent shows were announced in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Those shows are taking place at Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter, Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse, and Brisbane’s Victoria Park.
The concerts will take place in “specially constructed” 10,000-capacity Big Top tents, featuring floor and bleacher seating in addition to a General Admission standing area. As the band noted in a press release, the tent shows will recall Cold Chisel’s 1982 An Evening With The Circus Animals tour.
The band have also added more dates in Sydney (Qudos Bank Arena), Victoria (Mornington Racecourse), and a second night at Sandalford Wines in WA.
Pre-sale tickets for the originally announced shows were exhausted for multiple dates. If you missed out on pre-sale tickets, check Cold Chisel’s website at noon on Tuesday, 4 June, for the general public release of tickets.
The Aussie rockers announced the Big Five-O tour earlier this week and revealed they’ll be accompanied by special guests The Cruel Sea, Karen Lee Andrews, Birds Of Tokyo, and The Superjesus at rotating gigs.

Cold Chisel will tour Australia throughout October and November to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Below are all the tour dates and special guests for each show.
“Cold Chisel are never apart. We’re as close as brothers. Some of the best moments of my life have been spent on stage with those boys, and I hope we keep going ‘til the day we drop,” Jimmy Barnes said of the upcoming shows.
“The Big Five-0 is a landmark moment. There have been plenty of times where I never thought I’d live to see this day, so I’m going to make the most of it. I can’t wait to celebrate with my mates and with all the fans who have been such a big part of our story. We’re gonna smash it!”
