More Clea More Clea

Brisbane singer-songwriter Clea has joined Queensland music royalty today with the unveiling of her plaque on the Valley Walk Of Fame.

Clea's track Dreaming picked up the coveted Song Of The Year at Queensland Music Awards earlier in the year and was celebrated at a ceremony in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley today.

"It's a real privilege to have a plaque in among artists who I admire and I feel very proud to be part of this Brisbane music community," she shared at the ceremony.

"I look forward to a lot of happy, inebriated people fumbling over the plaque."

“Clea is such an incredible talent and has made a big impression on the Australian music scene,” QMusic CEO Angela Samut said of Clea's achievement.

Dreaming was one of triple j’s most played track for a number of weeks upon its release as Clea’s songwriting, melody and voice captivates listeners and pulls in a loyal fan base which she continues to garner through her touring schedule.

“We are super proud of Clea and congratulate her on this exciting career milestone.”

Clea joins previous Song Of The Year winners in Brunswick Street Mall including Amy Shark, Violent Soho, Ball Park Music, Cub Sport and Emma Louise.

Today’s plaque unveiling also coincided with the official ribbon cutting ceremony of The Fortitude Music Hall with Councillor Vicki Howard commenting, "This amazing young woman is exactly why Scott [Hutchinson] has built this... because it's people like Clea who we need to encourage and to make sure we are recognising the fantastic work that they do".

The Fortitude Music Hall will officially open tonight with performances by Ball Park Music, DZ Deathrays and Tia Gostelow. Have a sneak peek inside the venue here.

Entries for the 2020 Queensland Music Awards will open in September 2019.
