Clairy Browne & The Bangin' Rackettes Climbing US Charts

The Melbourne swingers crash the US albums chart.

Melbourne outfit Clairy Browne & The Bangin' Rackettes has moved up in the US charts this week, making it in to the top 5 Heatseekers Albums list.

Her record, Baby Caught The Bus, has moved up to number four on the Heatseekers Albums chart, last week sitting at number fourteen. This week has also seen Clairy Browne enter the Independent Albums chart at number 32 and the Billboard 200 at number 167.

Their debut record was made over two years, produced by Steve Schram (Little Red, Cat Empire), and features bombastic, '60s-inspired tunes. Baby Caught The Bus has also received a number of accolades, scoring ABC Radio National's Album Of The Year and scoring a number six position on The Age newspaper's Album Of The Year list.

Clairy Browne features on a Heineken beer ad, which has no doubt helped her American cause.
