City Riots Launch Album With 11-Date Tour

25 September 2012 | 9:15 am | Dan Condon

The Adelaide band are set to show off their new record in fine style.

The release of the debut record from Adelaide indie group City Riots is a mere four weeks away and this morning the band have announced a pretty comprehensive tour of the east coast – as well as a couple of hometown shows – in support of the album's release.

Called Sea Of Bright Lights, the record shows the value in not rushing to get your first LP out there, as the band are already sounding a markedly more mature and well-formed outfit than ever before, as evidenced on the dreamy first single Wait For Me.

The album, made with Aussie producer Woody Annison, was written and recorded in the space of just half a year, the band hoping to make an album “in its truest form”. You can hear if they've succeeded when the record hits stores on Friday 26 October, and then witness them smashing it out in the live arena on the following dates.

Friday 26 October – The Promethean, Adelaide
Thursday 8 November – Alhambra Lounge, Brisbane
Thursday 22 November – The Terrace, Newcastle
