In case you missed it: Neighbours ended after 37 years on the air last July, but by November, the series delighted fans with the announcement that it would come back. The iconic Aussie soap returns to Amazon Prime Video and Channel 10 in September.
The show will premiere on Channel 10 and 10 Play on Monday, 18 September, at 4:30 pm before airing at 6:30 pm on 10 Peach – a week before Neighbours relaunches on Amazon Prime Video on Monday, 25 September.
You can watch a teaser of the Neighbours cast listening to their new theme tune, sung by The Voice Australia season nine (2020) winner, Chris Sebastian, below.
The Neighbours theme tune is as memorable as the television series’ most renowned moments, and with his take, Sebastian brings Neighbours to a new generation of viewers while respecting the old-school fans.
“When I was told the Neighbours team were going to use my voice for the new season theme song, I was shocked and, of course, over the moon,” Sebastian said in a press release via TV Tonight.
“I have grown up with that soundtrack, and I still can’t quite believe that this is real. Neighbours, we are all so glad you are back; it hasn’t been the same without our friends. I hope you guys love my version of the theme song as much as I loved recording it for you.”

According to Media Week, the series regulars on Neighbours will be joined by an abundance of guest stars, including The OC’s Mischa Barton, Australian film and television legend Guy Pearce, Ian Smith, April Rose Pengilly, Jodi Gordon, Melissa Bell, and Trevor the Dog.
Earlier this year, Kylie Minogue revealed that she felt “miffed” after Neighbours announced its return following its farewell episode (which she reprised her role as Charlene for).
“Yeah, 'happy' is probably not the emotion [about the Neighbours reunion],” Minogue said, while joking that the finale was a “waste of time”. The Padam Padam singer explained, “You know, 'miffed' may have been the word.”
She continued, "But I know, with the producer, he'd said it wasn't [coming back]. They genuinely didn't know. So, all the affection and love that went into the final episode was the truth. I'm happy for them now, and I'm interested to see how it's going to change.”
