Chris Brown has been arrested by police after finishing a concert in Florida on Thursday night.

As TMZ reports, the controversial hip hop artist had just come off stage following a gig at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre when he was met by several police officers.

Brown was reportedly arrested for an outstanding felony arrest warrant relating to an alleged attack in a Tampa nightclub last year, in which he was accused of attacking a photographer inside the venue.

He was later bailed out for $US2,000 and is scheduled to continue his Heartbreak On A Full Moon tour in Tampa tonight.

Brown was scheduled to perform in Australia in late 2015, however the tour was axed just a week out

The cancellation came after the singer's visa was denied on character grounds, following the assault of his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, in 2009.

Brown was charged with felony assault and later sentenced to community labour, five years probation and given a restraining order which required him to stay away from Rihanna.
