American post-hardcore stars Chiodos have cancelled their upcoming Australian tour, scheduled for November.

The band were set to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their beloved debut record, All’s Well That Ends Well. In a statement shared on their Instagram Stories on Friday (30 October), Chiodos cited a “scheduling conflict” and the need for more time to complete their forthcoming album as the reason for the cancellation.

“To our friends in Australia & Hawaii, we have some unfortunate news,” the band’s statement reads.

“Due to a scheduling conflict, we need more time in November to complete our new album, and therefore, we must cancel our All’s Well That Ends Well 20th Anniversary Tour dates in Australia and Hawaii.”

Their statement continued, “We understand many of you have made arrangements to attend these shows, and we’re truly sorry to make this announcement.

“Completing this album properly is very important to us and to what we plan to accomplish in 2027 and beyond.”

The band added that refunds will be issued via the original point of purchase. They then thanked Rain City Drive, who were set to join them on the tour, and promoters Destroy All Lines for organising the shows. Alt-metal band The Beautiful Monument was also scheduled to open the shows in Australia.

“We’re very sorry to everyone who was excited about attending these shows,” the statement concluded. “We are currently exploring options to return to you as soon as possible and will provide updates as they become available. Thank you all for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you soon.”

Emails were also sent to ticket holders with the same message, along with refund information, according to this post on the triple j Reddit.

In July, Chiodos released their first new music in over a decade with the single, TAPDAT, and signed a recording deal with Sharptone Records. No other announcements have been made about their forthcoming album.

Chiodos were set to perform at Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Saturday, 21 November; Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Sunday, 22 November; Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Wednesday, 25 November; Adelaide’s The Gov on Thursday, 26 November; and Perth’s Magnet House on Saturday, 28 November.

The band last visited Australia in January and February 2015. All’s Well That Ends Well, released in July 2005, is Chiodos’ debut album. Upon its release, the record reached #3 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart, and by 2008, it had sold more than 200,000 copies.
