Sydney rapper and singer Chillinit (real name Blake Turnell) has fired against allegations of his wife pushing a young fan off stage in Cairns, calling the criticisms “slander” and “garbage”.

Last week (31 March), Chillinit hosted a rambunctious performance at Gilligan’s in Cairns and reportedly encouraged fans to “break the rules”, leading a young fan to get on stage, according to a 7 News Gold Coast report you can watch below.

His wife, Natasha Rayner, allegedly pushed the fan off the stage, who ended up reportedly suffering a head injury. Chillinit immediately stopped the show after the incident and called an ambulance.

Rayner then faced backlash online for her alleged actions, with Chillinit jumping in to defend his wife in messages shared in the 7 News report.

Responding to criticism towards his wife, Chillinit wrote:

Comments like this are garbage, out of pocket and slander to a good woman, no one should rush a stage and the young girl everyone felt for but my wife reacted with instinct, I shut the show down to get her medical attention and physically put her on an ambulance, I then also attended to my wife who was distraught and I am a father, and care for me family and fans… I’ll be ignoring your tags and slander, wish you a better attitude in life.

He then asked online critics to “be transparent” and quipped:

Post this on your little tea time fb page and make it clear, no one wants that at shows.. No one should be hurt as show, or rush the stage period. And a man stands by his woman even after a mistake, again… I spoke to the girl personally and her brother so maybe focus on your own life…

According to the 7 News report, police are investigating the alleged incident. No charges have been laid at the time of writing.

In November, Chillinit released the mixtape 420DNA, which notably features the Australian Crawl-sampled single Boys Light Up on the tracklist. 420DNA is the follow-up to his 2021 ARIA-nominated album, Family Ties.
