Cherrytree Records, the label behind artists such as Ellie Goulding, Far East Movement and LMFAO, have announced an exclusive partnership with Kobalt Music Group in order to expand into publishing.
Through an exclusive, worldwide deal, Kobalt will provide funding, administration and creative services for Cherrytree Music Publishing, which will allow Grammy-nominated producer/songwriter and Cherrytree Records chairman Martin Kierzzenbaum to enter the publishing sphere.
Kobalt president Richard Sanders said, “Martin Kierszenbaum exemplifies the true spirit of an entrepreneur in today's music business. We look forward to be partnering with him in his new venture.”
Kierszenbaum founded Cherrytree Records as an imprint through Interscope in 2005 and has since signed and introduced the world to some of the biggest names in music. Kierszenbaum also released the first two Lady Gaga records, for which he wrote and produced four songs.
“I'm looking forward to extending the Cherrytree philosophy to protect and amplify our recording artists' and management clients' creative visions to serve songwriters with the same attention and care,” Kierszenbaum said.
