Richie Ramone is set to headline Cherry Bar's famed Alleyway festival.

More Richie Ramone More Richie Ramone

Cherry Bar has once again proved that they are biggest fans of rock'n'roll in Melbourne and that they'll cram the best darn festival into AC/DC lane whether you like it or not.

In their first announcement regarding the tenth birthday of Cherry Rock, the bar has let on that Richie Ramone of legendary NYC punk rockers The Ramones will be headlining the festival. Although not of the original line-up, Richie Ramone made some pretty admirable contributions to the band, writing songs for Animal Boy, Too Tough To Die and Halfway To Sanity, while Joey Ramone himself said that Richie and his drumming "saved the band".

Cherry Rock016 takes place 1 May and the tenth birthday seems set to be the greatest incarnation of the festival yet.
