Get ready.

In the works since 2011, the world has finally been given a taste of the upcoming Tupac Shakur biopic, All Eyez on Me, with the release of a teaser trailer ahead of its release later this year.

Released on what would have been the iconic rapper's 45th birthday, the one-minute clip doesn't give much away, though the uncanny resemblance between Shakur and actor Demetrius Shipp Jr is enough for any Tupac fan to get excited.

The film is directed by Benny Boom who has shot a number of rap music videos for names such as 50 Cent, P Diddy, Nicki Minaj and Nelly, while Jamal Woolard reprises his role as Notorious BIG following the 2009 biopic of the late hip hop star, Notorious.

Other actors to feature in the movie include Danai Gurira of The Walking Dead, who portrays Shakur's mother, Stefon Washington as Puff Daddy and Jarrett Ellis as Snoop Dogg.

The film will hit cinemas just a year after NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton which was a massive hit at the box office and currently holds the record for the fifth highest August opening of all time, the highest opening for an R-rated movie in the same month and is the highest grossing musical biopic in history.

All Eyez on Me is set for release on 16 November. Check out the teaser below.
