"I am also excited to join the Island family."
Charlie Collins is back with a brand new single today.
Dubbed Fuck It, the track - which is about a recent break-up - was produced by Scott Horscroft (Alison Wonderland, DMA'S, Empire Of The Sun, Silverchair and more) and former Gang Of Youths guitarist Joji Malani (who recently launched his own label).
The track is the first from Collins from since inking a deal with Island Records Australia.
"Finally, after breaking my own heart in the process of writing this song I’m ready to release Fuck It for you all," she told The Music.
"This song was one of the most challenging songs to write because I mean nobody really wants to admit their flaws and re-live mistakes. But in a sense it was also liberating to let go of burdens that I was carrying.
"Fucking up is hard, admitting it is harder and this song is about that and also how toxic gossip can be. My pain should not be someone’s gain and it broke me even more when words get sent back to me like unwanted boxes of rubbish. Let's just say I hit a pretty low point but I feel like I’m stronger and tougher for it.

"I am also excited to join the Island family and start this next chapter with them and of course all you guys."
"Be it as a band member or as an award winning independent solo artist, Charlie Collins has just always had that certain specialness," added Universal Music Australia managing director Michael Taylor.
"But now, with Charlie’s new songs, she rips open her lyrical heart while you are still singing out loud the chorus with your friends - sharing the joyful, melodic heartbreak.
"Charlie’s new recordings takes it that next level. She’s a gifted artist and Island Records Australia are so proud to be working with her."
