Channel Nine Deny Reports Usher Is Joining 'The Voice Australia'

Channel Nine have denied reports that US star Usher is set to be announced as the new coach for the upcoming season of The Voice Australia.

Yesterday, Woman's Day reported that the Grammy Award-winning R&B artist will replace Seal and appear on the judging panel alongside Kelly Rowland, Boy George and Delta Goodrem.

However, the network denied the talk in a statement given to The Music.

"While we do not comment on speculation or rumour, we can confirm that no decision has been made nor announced regarding the fourth superstar coach for season seven of The Voice Australia," a Nine spokesperson said.

The speculation shouldn't be considered too far-fetched though, given that Usher did feature as a coach on the US version of the reality singing competition between 2013-2014.

Season seven of The Voice Australia is set to air in 2018.
