After five years in the job Evan Kaldor stands down as the station's General Manager.
A series of changes of personnel have been announced at Sydney community radio statio FBi this morning, as the station's General Manager Evan Kaldor stands down from his role after five years in the job.
Kaldor will remain on the board of the station and will continue in his role as Treasurer going forward. The station is welcoming applications from candidates interested in taking on the role and will advertise a full position description on its website soon.
In a statement announcing the news this morning, FBi President Cass Wilkinson was full of praise for Kaldor's efforts over the past five years, particularly in times of financial hardship.
“It's not every day you find someone like Evan and I'm very pleased that while he is moving on to new professional opportunities, he will remain involved with FBi as a Board member," she said. "Evan led FBi deftly through both terrific times and very challenging times including the global financial crisis.”

Kaldor himself explained that the timing just seemed right for him to step aside.
“For the last five years I've had the privilege of working alongside a group of enormously talented and creative people," he said. "Together we've progressed the idea of what a community radio station can be and with the goodwill of our listeners and local artists we've cemented our place in the Sydney scene. FBi is in a fantastic position and, as we prepare to celebrate our tenth year on air, I believe now is the right time for me to step aside as General Manager"
Dan Zilber has been promoted to the role of General Manager of Music, giving him increased scope as the station looks beyond the FM band and into the online, digital and live worlds. Stephen Goodhew will take on the role of Music Director at the station.
