Linkin Park On 'From Zero' & Their Return To Australia: 'We're More Assured That This Is What We Want To Be Doing'

Celebrate 'Ghostbusters'' 30th Anniversary With A Global Online Viewing Party

When someone asks you if you are attending an online viewing party, you say, 'YES'

This Saturday, June 7, iconic comedy Ghostbusters turns 30 years old. The film that captured a generation's imagination, immortalised a giant, sentient confectionery and made a whole bunch of people really confused about how to feel about floating, demonic, smokin' hot Sigourney Weaver still holds up as a comedic masterpiece today, and to celebrate that fact, a group of fans based in the US is throwing the Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Global Viewing Party - now endorsed by the official Ghostbusters page.

The premise is simple - on Saturday, fans around the world will stream the film via Netflix (you sly dogs) or watch it on DVD or via iTunes or however you take your ectoplasm, pressing play at the same time for a synced-up worldwide Marshmallow Man-melting experience.

For Aussies keen to get involved, it's kind of a raw deal - it kicks off at midday Pacific Standard Time (US), 8pm in London, and... 5am Sunday here.

That said, you won't be alone in your experience - the group will be using the #GB30 tag on social media and plan to set up chat rooms for global participants to discuss the film as it plays out around the world, so at least you'll be able to celebrate the film in good company. Consider them the Keymaster to your Gatekeeper. That wasn't meant sexually.

Follow the event page for more information on the viewing party as it comes, which you'd hope would be pretty soon, since Saturday (well, Sunday, ugh) isn't really that far away.

In case you're wondering why you should bother, this nice-looking trailer, posted when the film had a limited re-release in cinemas a few years ago, ought to jog that crappy memory:
