The country-music songstress also sets off on a national tour this week
Newcastle-bred country singer-songwriter Catherine Britt is only a couple of days away from embarking on an extensive national tour ahead of — and following — the release of her eagerly awaited new full-length album, Boneshaker, and to highlight the forthcoming work, the acclaimed songstress has unveiled a new video alongside the LP's track list, art work and street date.
The first slice of Boneshaker — which will hit shelves on Friday, 1 May, via Lost Highway Australia/Universal Music — comes in the form of the clip for Good To Bad, the second song on Britt's 11-track-strong alt-country opus, and highlights not just the strength of Britt's own songwriting and performance ability but also the capabilities of the people with whom she chose to work (including, on album closer You & Me Against The World, a duet with legendary troubadour Steve Earle):
"We made [the album] in a backwoods barn, on a farm, so it was still really country," Britt said of Boneshaker in a statement. "[Producer] Ryan [Hadlock — The Strokes, Vance Joy, The Lumineers] was very involved, very passionate about it — he really cared. He suggested musicians, and I chose them with him through a rigorous process before recording the album, but we were on the same page about everything, which I'll admit was a big relief.
"We used a lot of the same musicians he had used with Vance Joy and The Lumineers — I basically got both their bands, combined, which is pretty amazing."
