One of the highest honours in the country music arena, the Country Music Association of Australia have announced the artists nominated for the 2016 Golden Guitar Awards, selecting 75 impressive acts from a pool of over 500.

Leading the charge is Lee Kernaghan with seven nominations — among them, Album Of The Year, Male Artist Of The Year and Video Clip Of The Year, going up against the likes of Troy Cassar-Daley, Shane Nicholson, O'Shea. Also with seven nominations is multiple ARIA-winner Troy Cassar-Daley, in categories like APRA AMCOS Song Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Male Artist Of The Year, and Shane Nicholson, in categories such as Alternative Country Album Of The Year, Sanity Top Selling Album Of The Year and Single Of The Year.

Country music's leading ladies Beccy Cole and Catherine Britt have also amassed six nods each, and will go up against each other in categories like Album Of The Year, Female Artist Of The Year and Vocal Collaboration Of The Year.
