Returning this May.
After the recent news of her cancelled tour dates, due to her continuing struggles with a rare blood condition, Georgia native Cat Power (Chan Marshall) will return as promised for a tour of Australia in mid-2016.
Renewed and ready to go, Chan expressed her delight over the news of her return Down Under, making it crystal clear to her fans that she will not let her illness interfere with her career.
"I've been looking forward for so long to return to my home away from home and I wasn't going to let this debilitating illness deprive me or anyone else of that opportunity," Power said.
"I'm so glad to be making it back to Australia".

Power will kick off the rescheduled shows at Sydney's City Recital Hall (16 May), followed by stops at Star Court Theatre in Lismore (19 May), Brisbane's Powerhouse (20 May), Adelaide's Space Theatre (21 May), Melbourne's Recital Hall (22-23 May) and Bendigo's Capital Theatre (25 May).
The singer-songwriter’s love affair with Australia goes back to 1997 with her first visit prompting Chan to record a new album, Moon Pix, alongside Dirty Three guitarist Mick Turner. Cat Power has also been a regular name on Australian festival bills including the likes of Meredith, Golden Plains and Sydney Festival.
Following on from her tour down under, Cat Power is set to hit the studio sometime in Autumn to record a new album, the first since her 2012 release Sun.
All tickets for the previous shows remain valid for the new tour dates. For this reason, fans who secured tickets for the cancelled tour dates are encouraged to hold on to their tickets. Remaining tickets will go on sale on Friday, 4 March.
