Carcass working on new album?

Reunited British extreme metal band Carcass are rumoured to be working on their first album in 17 years, according to Blabbermouth.net.

The popular heavy metal website reports Carcass have teamed up with producer Colin Richardson (Fear Factory, Napalm Death, Slipknot) and aim to release a new album in 2013. Heaven Shall Burn drummer Matthias Voigt has apparently joined guitarist Bill Steer and bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker in the studio.

Ex-Carcass guitarist and present Arch Enemy member Michael Amott backed up the claims in a recent interview with Metal Forces, stating: "I'm not working with Carcass at the moment (but) from what I hear they're working on something new, but it's not with me”.

Blabbermouth also claim Carcass are in the process of booking a number of live shows in 2013, including appearances at next year’s Maryland Deathfest and Chile’s Metal Fest.

Carcass reunited in 2007. Guitarist Michael Amott and drummer Daniel Erlandsson toured as part of the reunion shows, but have since returned to their main band, Arch Enemy.

Carcass released their last album Swansong in 1996.
