Car Seat Headrest frontman Will Toledo has slammed Wes Anderson’s new film Isle Of Dogs for alleged cultural appropriation.

The singer took to Twitter today to vent his feelings towards the new stop-motion movie, writing, "Isle of Dogs is bad. It is an infuriatingly bad film. I am infuriated."

"Why is it racist. Why is it written as a joyless kid's film when it's specifically designed to be alienating and inappropriate for kids. Why is it so fucking ugly," Toledo said.

After several more tweets, the vocalist sent out a link to a FilmSlash analysis that criticises the film for its portrayal of Japanese culture and for including stereotypes.

Isle Of Dogs is set in a dystopian version of Japan and follows protagonist Atari Kobayashi as he attempts to rescue his dog after all canines are banished to 'Trash Island'.

The film was written by Anderson, Roman Coppola, Jason Schwartzman and Kunichi Nomura, featuring regular Anderson collaborators Bill Murray, Edward Norton and more.
