Comprised of six songwriters from varying creative backgrounds, LURCH & CHEIF have developed an intricate and dynamic sound of their own. A blend of styles ranging from 60s garage-surf and 90s influenced grunge to psychedelic jams and indie dance floor fillers, it is seamlessly tied together by the duelling lead boy/girl vocals of Hayden Somerville and Lili Hall.

Since playing their first show in May 2012, launching their debut EP “Paranoia” to a heaving warehouse of 300 people, Lurch & Chief havemaintained a high creative output. Immediately following their debut, “The Richmond Sessions” was a 4-track semi-acoustic “experiment” released for free online.

More recently the band have released two critically acclaimed stand-alone singles in “It’s Easy” and “I’ll Meet You On Planet Z”. Both tracks garnered the support of community radio and national youth broadcaster triple j, with the former earning the band a coveted spot on the 2012 Harvest Festival line-up via triple j Unearthed.
