It's on the cards.

More The Avalanches More The Avalanches

It took 16 years before the world got to hear new music from The Avalanches but it may have been worth the wait as their sophomore album, Wildflower, is the front runner to claim the #1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart this week.

There was a lot to live up to on the back of the Splendour 2016 headliner's acclaimed offering, Since I Left You, but Wildflower is likely to debut in the top three, blitzing the previous record set by the 2000 debut record, which peaked on the chart at #21.

The Avalanches will need to beat out last week's chart toppers, Delta Goodrem and Blink-182, if they are to take out top spot.

Aiming for top ten finishes are Schoolboy Q's Blank Face LP and Biffy Clyro's Ellipsis, while other album debuts this week include Switchfoot's Where The Light Shines Through, the soundtrack for Aussie TV show Love Child's third season and Roison Murphy's Take Her Up To Monto.

Over on the Singles Chart, there are no debuts looking past a top 40 finish, though Aussie acts Cookin' On 3 Burners and The Veronicas will again attempt to take down Drake from the #1 position who has been dominating the chart for many weeks with One Dance.

Expect to hear new tracks from Anne-Marie with AlarmsDJ Mustard's Don't Hurt Me featuring Nicki Minaj and JeremihIlly's Papercuts featuring Vera Blue and Good Charlotte's Life Can't Get Much Better.
