Will The Amity Affliction, The xx Beat The Presets To #1?

Huge shake-up expected on the ARIA Charts this week

The mad September for releases will make its first real impact on the ARIA Charts this week, with midweek figures suggesting that three new releases may vie for the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart.

In what could be one of the biggest shake-ups at the top of the charts this year, local post-hardcore band The Amity Affliction and/or London indie darlings The xx could beat indie-electro giants The Presets to the top spot. Amity's Chasing Ghosts has held a strong position on the iTunes charts all week, while The xx have been doing the triple j and blog-o-sphere rounds with their newie Coexist.

It would be a brave man to bet against Sydney duo The Presets though, with their album Pacifica already launching two singles.

They're not the only names chart-spotters should be looking at, with Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson's Wreck & Ruin, The Script's #3 and Bob Dylan's Tempest all tracking strongly midweek.

It's a lot calmer in the ARIA Singles Chart, with Guy Sebastian's track with Lupe Fiasco Battle Scars, which is making inroads into the US charts, fending off challenges from Flo Rida's I Cry, Birdy's Skinny Love and Taylor Swift's We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
