They're not just hitting up the Brisbane Festival

More Calexico More Calexico

A few weeks back we announced that Americana indie rockers Calexico would be coming out here for the Brisbane Festival, but now, we can gladly tell you guys that they're locked in for a few other dates on their visit!

The pairing of Joey Burns and John Convertino, plus their band, will play eight other shows while they're out here, with New Zealand artist Tiny Ruin, local bluegrass guys Quarry Mountain Dead Rats, Spanish singer-songwriter Depedro and indie-folkers Brighter Later locked in to support.

The US outfit formed in the mid-nineties, with their blend of Americana, folk, indie rock and Tex-Mex branded as "desert noir" - something that has continued to stick with the band.

It's been three years since their last Australian trip, so there's no doubt tickets, which are on sale now, will be snapped up quickly. Check out theGuide below for all the details.
