AFLW is the place to be for sports and music fans, with the sporting institution teaming up with Bunnings to launch a new gig series.

Welcoming its new afterparty, Bunnings Afters will bring live music to AFLW game days. The series will launch in Adelaide and Sydney this month, with footy fans, local performers, and the community coming together for fundraising.

The series will kick off at Norwood Oval, Adelaide, on Saturday, 11 October, for an Adelaide versus West Coast game during Round Nine. After the match, South Australian singer-songwriter aleksiah will perform along with special guests The Sundials.

For Round Eleven, Sydney’s Henson Park will host Sydney against West Coast on Saturday, 25 October, with performances from Ixaras and MYMA.

Entry to the music events is included on all AFLW tickets for Round Nine and Round Eleven, with tickets and more information available on the Bunnings website. Ticket prices start at $15, with admission for under-18s free.

The Bunnings Afters series will fundraise for Headspace, with proceeds from a sausage sizzle and merchandise from the shows donated to the charity.

Bunnings Afters will transform AFLW games into ultimate post-match parties, uniting fans through live local music and this iconic Aussie game,” said Bunnings Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Melissa O’Neill

She added, “As women’s footy continues to surge, we’re proud to help grow AFLW crowds while shining a spotlight on emerging  artists and grassroots talent.”

Aleksiah shared, “It’s incredible to see two Australian powerhouses in Bunnings and the AFLW backing homegrown musicians, and I’m excited to open the first event in my hometown before embarking on my European tour in November.

“Performing at Norwood Oval will be special - I can’t wait for both my fans and AFLW fans to get behind it.”

The announcement comes as aleksiah and Ixaras promote brand-new music.

In September, aleksiah unveiled the earworm, Punch Drunk Love, ahead of her European tour this November and December. She was recently announced as the special guest for country star Kelsea Ballerini’s upcoming Australian tour, following her own sold-out national run in August.

Meanwhile, this week, Ixaras shared the anthemic new single CASUALLY. This month, the singer will join The Rions on tour and perform at the Australian Women In Music Awards ahead of appearing on the Spilt Milk Gold Coast bill this December.
