Budjerah Releases New Single 'Wash My Sorrows Away', Following ARIA & NIMA Wins

“'Wash My Sorrows' Away is my teenage heartbreak song."

Budjerah has today revealed his timeless new single, Wash My Sorrows Away, alongside the track's visualiser.

The release follows the 19-year-old singer songwriter’s win for the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist Of The Year and performance of Missing You at this week's ARIA Awards; and his recent win of New Talent of the Year at the National Indigenous Music Awards.

The track is produced by frequent collaborator and artistic confidante Matt Corby and sees Budjerah's trademark vocals glide perfectly over lo-fi stripped back production, to create a spiritually inviting track.

Wash My Sorrows Away is my teenage heartbreak song," Budjerah states.

"Everyone has tough times and we all have our own ways of dealing with sadness, and this song tells what it's like for me when I'm in those situations.

"If I'm ever having a tough time I like to go home and get into the ocean, whether it's surfing or just diving under for a few seconds, it helps me get out of my own head."
