Get ready for a shakeup!
Beloved Melbourne venue The Penny Black will reopen its doors next month with a new look and new name.
Rebranded as Penny's, the venue is currently undergoing an overhaul as the team behind the Brunswick hotspot begin its revival.
A new Instagram and Facebook page have confirmed that live music will be making a comeback too, alongside a brand new Japanese-inspired menu and interior motif.
While operating as The Penny Black, the venue featured live performances from artists such as Bakers Eddy, Allysha Joy, DRMNGNW, Cousin Tony's Brand New Firebird and stacks more.
"Penny's is in the heart of Brunswick and we have some amazing local bands and musicians that we're thrilled to promote," co-owner Scott Assender told The Music. "Japanese food, live music - two of my favourite things. Being able to bring the community together for this? How good!"
Penny's will also operate as a faction of the new Welcome To Brunswick, a food and drink district for Sydney Rd bars, pubs and eateries including Brunswick Mess Hall, Little Mess, Four Pines Brewery and Mr Burger.
