'Broad City' Stars Set To Make Comedy With 'Bridesmaids' Director Paul Feig

Details are scant, but this is amazing news regardless

Some good news for fans of great comedy this afternoon — Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, the creators and stars of cult-favourite webseries-turned-TV-smash Broad City, are collaborating on an as-yet-untitled comedy film with renowned producer and director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, the Ghostbusters reboot).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Glazer and Jacobson have sold their untitled project to Twentieth Century Fox, with Feig presently attached as co-producer with Jessie Henderson, his business partner in eponymous production company Feigco.

THR reports that Glazer and Jacobson are not expected to actually star in the film — nor is Feig likely to direct — but their involvement at any level that wields creative influence is a welcome notion indeed, especially after having been exposed to their off-kilter, refreshingly honest brand of comedy and social commentary through Broad City's first two seasons on-screen.

Glazer and Jacobson are currently working on the show's third season. Broad City airs Down Under on The Comedy Channel. If you're not up to speed, check out last year's trailer for the latest season below.
