Cult-fave Brisbane outfit IDYLLS have announced the release details for their upcoming third LP, The Barn, along with its track list and a hectic teaser vid.

And, if the preview sounds contained within their short'n'sweet clip is anything to go off, it seems the Qld four-piece has taken their penchant for dissonance and power and ramped that shit up through the roof for their third studio full-length.

The Barn picks up where 2014's enthusiastically received second album, Prayer For Terrene, left off, growing out of their established playground made of metallic, grinding soundscapes to blossom into outright agitation, a "seething, haunting and vital" space.

Featuring nine tracks — including recent single Maslows Dogs — the album is billed as being "a unique piece that reflects on beauty under bruised hope and irony … observing seasons of triumph and bitter struggle", and the band cites influences such as The Birthday Party, John Zorn, Daughters, Pissed Jeans and more along the way to crafting the latest evolution in their creative vision.

Ahead of the album's release in a couple of months' time, the band will unveil new single No Virility on triple j's heavy haven The Racket tonight, 25 July. The single has also been picked up for play on BBC Radio 1's The Rock Show from this Sunday.

The ultra-keen among you can get your pre-orders in for the album via Holy Roar Records and Black Wire Records from next Monday, 31 July.

The Barn will be released on Friday 29 September.
