The rambunctious two-piece are welcoming their first full-length, 'Growing Up' into the world with a run of east-coast shows
Brisbane noise-pop lords Bugs are celebrating the release of their brand new debut full-length, Growing Up, with a run of east-coast shows this June in tandem with their good mates in Pop Cult.
Having seen a groundswell of support on the heels of their well-received 2015 EP Too Fast For Satan, Bugs have had a blistering first half of 2016. The band have supported recent visiting US heroes such as Modern Baseball and Twin Peaks in the past couple of months alone, building on an existing CV of support and headline slots next to local favourites such as Hockey Dad, Postblue and Jeremy Neale, all of which have contributed to their burgeoning reputation for rambunctious, resplendent live performances.
The EP yielded three successful singles for the pair — individually Connor Brooker and Brock Weston — in the form of Best Friend, Tinnies and Heal. They preceded the 10-track album with first taste When I Know to exceedingly warm response, which was only built upon by the infectious glee of Instant Coffee.
The band are now ready to unleash the record in full on eagerly waiting ears, and Growing Up is nothing if not a labour of love, with Brooker and Weston pouring more than eight months of their lives into creating and refining the album. The extra effort shows, with the self-produced album showing few aural signs of its humble roots, but absolutely overflowing with joy and potential.
