Brisbane Trio The Goon Sax Score Spot On Billboard's Critics' Picks Chart

Next to Flume and Sia.

More The Goon Sax The Goon Sax

Billboard's Critics' Picks for Best Album Of 2016 features a slew of familiar heavyweight names including Beyonce, David Bowie and Frank Ocean.

But in what is a hugely-impressive feat, those names are joined by emerging Brisbane outfit The Goon Sax on the list.

As noted by ABC, the trio's debut album Up To Anything came in at #49, with Billboard writing, "The Goon Sax’s debut LP captures the rush of apathy and romantic emotion present in pre-adult life".

The chart follows reports that The Goon Sax are planning a move to Berlin next year as well as release a new LP.

Fellow Aussie Flume also cracked the list with his acclaimed LP, Skin, which came in at #42, while Adelaide-born songwriter Sia's This Is Acting placed at #20.

Beyonce's Grammy-nominated Lemonade took out top spot on the list.
