More The Brand New Heavies More The Brand New Heavies

They are one of pioneering groups in the realm of acid jazz and modern soul and funk and as they celebrate their 21st birthday this year, The Brand New Heavies are returning to Australia to treat audiences on the east coast of the country to they're explosive live show in some intimate venues.

All four original members of the band - guitarist Simon Bartholomew, drummer Jan Kincaid, bassist Andrew Levy and the amazing N'Dea Davenport, the band's lead singer - will be out here for these shows, and it seems pretty damn likely that this means the band will be dipping into songs from throughout their storied career, bringing back plenty of memories to all of us as they do so.

They were one of the pioneering acid jazz bands in the early to mis 1990s, alongside fellow Londoners like Jamiroquai and Incognito, and managed to secure themselves a bunch of massive chart hits in the US and UK with their smooth and soulful sound. More recently they came to Australia for two quick shows in 2010, two shows that sold out very quickly and confirmed that this band has not lost their way after so many years.

Catch them at the following shows; tickets are on sale from 9am Monday 16 July.
