After rescheduling their Aussie headline tour earlier this month, Boy & Bear have announced they’ll be dropping an acoustic album this July.

The new LP, At Golden Retriever Studio, features “freshly recorded” acoustic version of old favourites, tracks from the band’s recent Suck On Light LP and unreleased song 3 Moons.

“When we tour the USA we often get asked to perform our songs acoustically when we are on the radio,” Boy & Bear said.

“This usually involves acoustic guitars, tambourines and a toy keyboard, with the five of us jammed into a small studio. It gave us the idea to record a selection of acoustic tracks and present them as an album.”

The first track from the album is a newly recorded Bad People, which you can check out below.

“This song was super fun to record stripped back," Boy & Bear's Dave Hosking said of Bad People

"It took on a whole new life and feel which was refreshing. In a nice way, it loses the shimmer of the full production but gains a pleasant nostalgia and hopefully draws the listener in even more so to the story behind it."

At Golden Retriever Studio will be released on July 24. Head to theGuide for all rescheduled tour dates.
