Aussie Industry Figure To Head BMG Production Music

“Production music is one of our most dynamic segments of business."

BMG has appointed a prominent Australian industry figure to head its worldwide production music business, BMGPM

John Clifford, now London-based, will step up into the position from his current role, Managing Director of UK and SVP Global Sales, Marketing & Repertoire. He will report to BMG CFO Maximilian Dressendoerfer

“Production music is one of our most dynamic segments of business,” said Dressendoerfer.

“John Clifford has made a significant contribution to this growth and I am delighted to congratulate him on his expanded role.”

“In many ways BMG Production Music has followed the same growth trajectory as the core BMG business, first of all defining a unique market positioning and then growing swiftly by acquisition," Clifford added.

"The emphasis now is on organic growth and service delivery, but we do so now as a global player.”

With 25 years' experience in production music, Clifford previously ran the former BMG Zomba in Australia before moving to Universal Production Music as General Manager Australia/New Zealand and Managing Director UK, Head of Media Rights Management Europe.

His appointment will see London become headquarters for BMG Production Music, the city now host to four of BMG's global hubs.

BMGPM acts as a provider for both pre-cleared and custom production music services to the global broadcast, film/trailer, games and advertising industries.
