The Sydney band are about to embark on a great American journey
Ascendant Sydney garage-pop trio Bloods have become the newest signings to be welcomed aboard the roster of venerated US label Minty Fresh Records, the Chicago-based home of well-loved acts such as Veruca Salt and The Cardigans.
The deal comes ahead of the band's eagerly awaited Stateside sojourn for South By Southwest, and just after their being named as supports for The Preatures' epic US tour this March and April, which takes them through several American states, including Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Colorado, Washington, Oregon and California.
They'll be formally celebrating their new signing with Minty Fresh — through whom a special 13-track edition of their debut album, Work It Out, will be released on 21 April — with a one-off show in Chicago on 25 March, to launch a special collectors' tour edition 'cassette only' version of the album, because you wouldn't believe how big cassettes are among the DIY set in the States (we're not even a little bit kidding).
And, with their bootstrap-soaked, reverb-heavy garage-rock vibes, let's just say that we can expect Bloods to enjoy quite the reception when they touch down for SXSW and beyond in just under two weeks.
