More Blondie More Blondie

Two of music's biggest legends in Blondie and Cyndi Lauper are teaming up for a massive run of Aussie shows next year in what will easily be one of the most anticipated tours of 2017.

While Sydney and Melbourne will be treated to live arena shows, the iconic US acts will also hit the stage next April in Hunter Valley, Mt Cotton, Yarra Valley, McLaren Valley and Perth for a series of A Day On The Green performances.

The trip Down Under will be Blondie's first since 2012, while Lauper last toured in 2013.

"Blondie were the true trailblazers of the New York City new wave and punk scenes," Lauper said.

"As a young artist, they had such a big impact on me. I just thought that Debbie [Harry] was so cool. She is still a hero of mine. I’m so excited to do this tour of Australia with them. We are going to have a blast!"

"You can't miss this show," Harry added.

"The bitches are coming back to make it happen in Australia just like they do it everywhere.

"All the songs and music you want to hear from us and much much more… We're looking to have the best tour in OZ ever!"

If that wasn't enough, Blondie and Lauper will also be joined at the A Day On A Green gigs by veteran indie-rockers The Clouds, as well as hugely popular local artists, Alex Lahey and Montaigne.

Tickets for all shows go on sale from 10am on Tuesday, 8 November.
