With a name which blends two colossal intellectual concepts – Gesamtkunstwerk, the German ideal of the universal artwork, and Albert Einstein, the man who explained the universe – there's no denying Mike Levy, aka, Gesaffelstein is an artist brimming with confidence.
So far, he has every right to be. Known to commercial audiences for his collaboration on Kanye West's critically acclaimed album Yeezus for the tracks Black Skinhead and Send It Up, Levy has been involved with some of the world's favourite tracks this year.
He's been steadily building a name for himself as a DJ/producer to watch out for, having released killer remixes for the likes of Lana del Rey, Justice and Depeche Mode.
Ahead of his appearance in Australia next year as part of the Future Music Festival, Gesaffelstein is set to release his debut solo album Aleph, which will drop Friday 25 October. The first single to come from the album is the insistent, intense, and forceful track Pursuit, which you can watch the clip for below:
