Birds Of Tokyo Announce EP Release And National Tour

Perth band to hit the road in support of new EP

More Birds Of Tokyo Birds Of Tokyo Profile

Rumours have circulated recently that Perth outfit Birds Of Tokyo were set to release new music this year.

And luckily for fans, those rumours have proven to be true with the announcement that the band are releasing a four-song EP entitled Anchor, available from this Friday.

The boys will then hit the road for a national tour in support of the EP, which was written during their stay in the US last year.

Speaking on the new material, frontman Ian Kenny said: "Some people send postcards when they're away. Others post their travel pic's on Instagram. We decided to write a few songs inspired by our time in LA and we're sending those out instead."

They will kick off the tour next month at the Darwin music event, Bass In The Grass, before they head to Perth for their first show in their hometown in two years at the State Of The Art Music Festival.

The alternative rockers will then travel through Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney to perform headline shows in June, along with support act, Ecca Vandal.
