He's finally given in.
He has strayed away from talks of a third Ghostbusters film for years but it seems legendary actor Bill Murray has finally given in, as the 64-year-old has committed to star in the upcoming all-female cast reboot of the popular franchise.
According to Variety, the Hollywood veteran who starred in the supernatural-comedy films as Dr Peter Venkman has been confirmed to appear in the reboot, though it is not known as yet if he will reprise the same role.
After appearing in the original Ghostbusters film in 1984 and then again in the 1989 sequel, fellow cast member and writer Dan Aykroyd had tried to lure Murray back to the franchise for a third film for some time without any luck.
Murray has been quoted as saying he would only star in a new film if he was killed off in the first reel and that a third movie is "crazy talk", but it seems new director Paul Feig may have helped to lock him in.

Meanwhile Aykroyd, who hinted a few months ago that he would appear in the new film if requested, has also been confirmed to star in the film, after he revealed to shooting a scene with Kristen Wiig last month.
The new Ghostbusters which stars Wiig alongside Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Australia's own Chris Hemsworth is due for release on 22 July 2016.
