Big Day Out Announce MTV Deal & Sydney Food Lineup

Big Day Out have dropped two major bits of news for the Sydney leg of the festival, with the production of MTV World Stage and the lineup for the Chow Town culinary tour announced.

MTV World Stage is a weekly, worldwide music show, recorded live at some of the biggest concerts, festivals and gigs across the globe. This will be the first time any Australian installment has been produced and considering it reaches over half a billion households, it's a major coup for the event.

"We are all totally pumped that MTV and World Stage are on board with us this year. To be able to show what the Big Day Out experience is really about to music fans all over the world is a dream come true, '' said BDO Creator and Director Ken West.

On the food front, the Sydney restaurant for the festival's inagural Chow Town will have some pretty impressive chefs on hand. Leading the way are Bodega/Portena owners Ben Milgate and Elvis Abrahanowicz, as well as Asian cuisine expert Louis Tikaram and Mexican flavour man Alejandro Urbina. Chow Town will provide festival-goers with gourmet food choices.

This year's festival promises to be huge with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Killers, Vampire Weekend and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs headlining the event.
