Last week, Bernard Fanning announced tour dates celebrating 20 years since the release of his beloved, critically acclaimed solo album Tea & Sympathy.

At the time of publication, eight shows have already sold out on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Thirroul, Melbourne, and the Gold Coast. Additionally, tickets are selling quickly in Adelaide, Perth, Cairns, and Canberra.

To meet the extraordinary demand, the tour’s promoters have added extra shows to Fanning’s Tea & Sympathy 20th anniversary tour.

The extra shows will take place at the Sunshine Coast’s Events Centre on Wednesday, 4 March, Sydney’s State Theatre on Thursday, 19 March, and Melbourne’s Forum on Thursday, 26 March. Tickets to the newly announced shows and the gigs selling fast are available now via Bernard Fanning’s website.

You can see the full list of tour dates below.

Reacting to the additional shows announced, Fanning said, “I’m blown away by the amount of people trying to get tickets to these shows around the country.

“We’ve managed to add new shows in Sydney, Melbourne and the Sunny Coast, but they may sell out just as fast. Stand by, Brissie, we're working on something else for you. Get in quick if you’re up for it. I’d love to see you there!”

More country-folk inspired than his work in Powderfinger, Tea & Sympathy spawned the ultra-successful singles Wish You Well, Songbird, Watch Over Me, and Weekend of Mystery. Wish You Well went on to top the triple j Hottest 100 of 2005, and, earlier this year, landed at #57 in triple j’s Hottest 100 of Australian Songs.

Joining Fanning on all dates of the tour are another two of Australia’s finest troubadours, Sam Cromack (of Ball Park Music fame) and Georgia Mooney (All Our Exes Live in Texas). In Perth, another special guest is joining in on the fun: Jebediah’s Bob Evans.
