“One of the founders has already been paid out and is said to be staying in the countryside in Brandenburg.”
There's a rumour floating around the web that Berghain will be closing later this year. The legendary institution which opened in 2004 has had some serious red flags surface this year, with many speculating it might be the end of an extremely glorious era.
Faze Magazine has reported that several inside sources at the club have confirmed it will close later this year. One source alleges that "The Berghain is closing forever – the final end will come this year.”
Another source says that, “One of the founders has already been paid out and is said to be staying in the countryside in Brandenburg.”
“The others simply ‘don’t feel like it’ anymore and have other life plans in mind.”
The sources suggest that "passing the club on to younger hands or selling it to another operator. Apparently, this is not desirable”.
Earlier this month the club's in house booking agency Ostgut Booking announced that it will shut at the end of 2022. Their roster currently includes Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Paramida alongside many other electronic heavy hitters. No reason was given for the closure.

The closure of the agency follows the closure of Ostgut Ton, Berghain's record label which has ceased operations. They closed out their discography with a compilation released which featured tracks from the likes of Avalon Emerson, Honey Dijon and Gerd Janson.
