This motherfucker better hope I don't see him out there.”
US singer-songwriter Benjamin Booker has slammed Ryan Adams’ comments towards alt-J during the week.
During his set at Lisbon’s NOS Alive festival on Thursday, Adams reportedly had a dig at alt-J, who had played the same event only a few hours earlier, with Stereogum saying he apologised for their performance and compared them to a “mosquito bite”
“If you ignore it, it’ll go away. I’m just kidding. I love Nickelodeon. It’s a great channel,” Adams said.
While alt-J are yet to respond to the remarks, Booker – who is scheduled to play the same festival today - posted on Facebook, making his stance well known (“FUCK. RYAN. ADAMS.”)

“I rarely get mad at other bands but when you see someone talking shit about another band playing at the same time at a festival (Alt-J), a band that is more original then you'll ever be,” he said.
Booker then goes on to talk about his experiences sharing a stage with Adams on Thursday at Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, saying he is “overcompensating” with a stage setup that includes “3 fucking stuffed animal tigers, a wall of fake amps, a 3rd grade diagram and other bullshit”.
“When you see someone shut down a festival stage so you can't prepare in the back for YOURE set while he's playing,” he says.
“When you realize all the chaos and confusion causes the power to cut out and the Madrid crew have to struggle to get it together and you don't get power onstage until two minutes before your set.
“If you see me playing a festival with you...ooo. This motherfucker better hope I don't see him out there.”
Adams was in the country in May to promote his latest LP, Prisoner.
