Ben Sollee Cancels Australian Tour, Offers Live Download

Kentucky musician Ben Sollee blew Australian audiences away with his take on both composition and performance when he first graced us with his presence towards the beginning of last year. As such plenty of people were looking forward to the artist's return for a series of dates this month.

Sadly news came through towards the end of last year that the artist has been forced to cancel the entire tour at the last minute due to family matters that require him to stay in his hometown. Tour promoters Gaynor Crawford Presents announced the cancellation just days before his first scheduled performance and today Sollee himself has issued a statement.

He expresses his disappointment and offers his apologies in the statement, also offering Australian fans a special live sampler as something of a peace offering.

To my Australian friends,

Since the end of my first visit to Australia in early 2012, I've been looking forward to heading back. You were all so affectionate, the venues were above and beyond, and I made some cherished friends. Unfortunately, due to some family matters I need to stay here in Kentucky. I sincerely apologize to my friends and fans and hope that you'll consider downloading this special live sampler to help smooth over any disappointment. I hope to make it back Australia in the near future and spend time with all of you again.
