The rapidly-rising British folkie will play a few club dates alongside his Bluesfest appearance.

More Ben Howard More Ben Howard

British indie-folk up and comer Ben Howard proved to be one of the surprise hits of the Spendour In The Grass festival earlier this year, so his return to Australia less than a year after that visit is very welcome indeed.

The success of his debut album Every Kingdom saw his star rise considerably in a short period of time, the platinum-selling, Mercury Prize nominated LP garnering acclaim from throngs of indie-folk lovers all over the world. He has just recently followed that release up with The Burgh Island EP, a digital release that sees him ditching his acoustic guitar and smashing out a small bunch of tunes that are notably darker than anything we've heard from him before.

While Bluesfest have snapped him up as part of their massive 2013 bill, this afternoon it has been confirmed that he will play three headline dates along the east coast of the country as well. The headline dates are as follows and tickets are available from Monday 17 December.

Wednesday 3 April - The Metro, Sydney
Friday 5 April - The Hi-Fi, Brisbane
Saturday 6 April - The Corner Hotel, Melbourne.
