Silverchair fans are on high alert as drummer Ben Gillies begins teasing something new relating to the iconic group.

The Silverchair drummer has posted a time-lapse video to his Facebook that features drums being set up in a studio.

While there’s not much else to it – and no audio – what has fans excited is the post’s accompanying “Good morning #Silverchair” caption.

With Freak celebrating its 25th anniversary earlier this month, something that Daniel Johns made a big deal of, many are hoping that the legendary outfit could perhaps be working on something new in the studio.

Or, at the very least, perhaps there’ll be a Silverchair reunion of sorts via Gillies making an appearance on Johns’ forthcoming solo album, FutureNever.

The vocalist has remained tight-lipped about potential album collaborations but has stated that friends “will be jumping on the record” and they will be revealed in the lead up to its April release.
